We are seeking a Part‑Time Manufacturing Quality Engineer on a 3+ month contract, with potential for extension based on project needs, to support work instruction (WI) development and process documentation at our client's Nogales, MX facility. This role requires an on‑site presence to collaborate directly with production and engineering teams, documenting processes for composite and mechanical products such as air ducts. The engineer will work with both shop floor personnel and the remote quality team, converting process observations into clear, visual work instructions using Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, update, and format work instructions (WIs) for manufacturing processes involving composites and mechanical assemblies.
  • Interface on‑site at the Nogales facility with production and engineering personnel to understand process flow and best practices.
  • Gather and organize photos, steps, and technical notes into clear, visual documentation that operators can easily follow.
  • Collaborate with the remote Quality Engineering team to align work instruction templates and content standards.
  • Ensure consistency, clarity, and compliance of documentation with internal quality standards.
  • Take initiative to ask process questions, identify missing details, and confirm accuracy with production teams.
  • Support continuous improvement of documentation methods and production workflow visibility.

Required Qualifications

  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) with excellent communication skills.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in manufacturing, production, or quality engineering environments.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for creating visual work instructions and documentation.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, preferably involving composites or mechanical products.
  • Personable and proactive, able to work closely with production teams and ask clarifying questions.
  • Must be able to work part‑time (1st shift hours) on‑site at the Nogales facility.

Additional Qualifications

  • Experience developing or maintaining work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), or job aids.
  • Familiarity with aerospace or defense manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality systems.
  • Ability to take initiative, manage tasks independently, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
