The Systems Engineer Mid and Senior Level roles will provide technical engineering support for the Undersea Communications and Integration Program Office (PMW 770). Your expertise will contribute to the development, acquisition, integration, and sustainment of submarine communication systems and related Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3) programs. Active Top-Secret Clearance or Top-Secret Clearance, eligibility is required. You will leverage your knowledge in systems engineering, Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), and security engineering to support a range of initiatives, including modernization and lifecycle management of PMW 770 programs. This position also involves collaboration with key stakeholders and partner organizations, such as: Naval Information Warfare Systems Command (NAVWAR 5.0), United States Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM), Commander, Submarine Force (COMSUBFOR), NC3 Enterprise Center (NEC), Naval Information Forces (NAVIFOR), and other NC3 Lead Capability Integrator (LCI) affiliated commands.
The Systems Engineer Mid and Senior Level will:
Security and Privacy Duties and Responsibilities: Individuals working for DSS will be subject to security and privacy requirements as explained in HIPAA, FedRAMP, and NIST 800-53. Additionally, they are required to undergo specific FedRAMP training to ensure compliance with all associated controls and responsibilities in the day-to-day performance of their duties. Individuals working in departments that are considered to be in the high-risk category will be required to undergo advanced training based on their role and level of access. Individuals with access to modify data and the configuration baseline will require further training.
Qualifications: Proficient in using a variety of tools and systems, including but not limited to: NAVWAR/PEO Installation Data Environment Repository (SPIDER), Navy Data Environment (NDE), Open Architecture Retrieval System (OARS), Configuration Data Managers Database-Open Architecture (CDMD-OA), Configuration Management Professional (CMPro), Navy Tool for Interoperability Risk Assessment (NTIRA), Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS), Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) database, Vulnerability Remediation Asset Manager (VRAM), Xacta Information Assurance (IA) Manager and NSERC DoD Information Technology Portfolio Repository-DON (DITPR-DON), DON Application Database Management System (DADMS), Microsoft Visio, PEO C4I Risk Exchange Online Server Tool and Office Suite & Jira Online Tool. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to identify, prioritize, and execute tasks to meet project deadlines consistently.
Desired: Knowledge of and practical experience with submarine communications systems, including both hardware and software components. Familiarity with PMW 770 programs and projects such as: Common Submarine Radio Room (CSRR), Submarine High Data Rate Antenna (SubHDR), Outboard Electronics (OE)-538 Antenna Group, Low Band Universal Communications System (LBUCS), Submarine Antenna Modification System (SAMS), Fixed Submarine Broadcast System (FSBS), High Power Transmission Equipment (HPTE), Time & Frequency Distribution System (TFDS), Take Charge and Move Out Ground Communications (TACAMO GC), Navy Modernized Hybrid Solution (NMHS). Experience with related projects including: Antenna Improvements, Shore to Ship Communications Towed Buoy Antenna (AN/BRR6/B), Reliability Improvements & Sustainment Strategic Communications Assessment Program (SCAP) / Continuing Evaluation Program (CEP), Submarine Operating Authority (SUBOPAUTH), Command, Control & Communications (C3) and Cerberus Very Low Frequency/Low Frequency (VLF/LF), Lead Service Undersea Unmanned Vehicle Operation Center (UUV OC).
Education & Years of Experience: Mid - Level BS in engineering, Minimum 6 years' professional experience in systems engineering. Senior - Level MS degree in any engineering discipline, Minimum 10 years' professional experience in systems engineering.
