At Jacobs, we're challenging today to reinvent tomorrow by solving the world's most critical problems for thriving cities, resilient environments, mission‑critical outcomes, operational advancement, scientific discovery and cutting‑edge manufacturing, turning abstract ideas into realities that transform the world for good.

Your impact

At Jacobs, we're advancing digital delivery by creating immersive, real‑time simulations and data‑integrated visualization environments. The Omniverse Lead will shape the core development and architecture of Jacobs' Digital Twin platform—leveraging NVIDIA Omniverse, Kit SDK, and RTX capabilities to bring engineering, geospatial, and AI data into a unified virtual ecosystem.

You'll guide a team of developers and specialists in implementing scalable, modular, and interoperable Omniverse‑based solutions that connect physical assets to digital models in real‑time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical design and development of Omniverse‑based applications and extensions using Omniverse Kit SDK and Omniverse Nucleus.
  • Architect and integrate 3D pipelines for data visualization, simulation, and asset management.
  • Collaborate with backend, API, and cloud teams to enable data streaming and real‑time synchronization.
  • Develop and maintain Python and C++ Kit extensions for interaction, rendering, and user interface control.
  • Guide implementation of USD (Universal Scene Description) for interoperability and data consistency.
  • Optimize performance for large‑scale 3D environments and multi‑user sessions (RTX, WebRTC, CloudXR).
  • Define and enforce development best practices, versioning, and continuous integration (CI/CD).
  • Provide technical mentorship and code reviews to team members.
  • Work closely with D&D SCRUM and PM teams to ensure timely delivery of sprint milestones.
  • Support integration of AI‑driven tools (GenAI, LLMs) for simulation, scenario generation, or automated visualization.

Here's what you'll need

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, 3D Graphics, or related technical discipline.
  • 6+ years of software development experience, with 3+ years in real‑time 3D, Omniverse, or simulation platforms.
  • Deep hands‑on experience with NVIDIA Omniverse Kit SDK, USD, Python, C++, and Docker‑based deployment.
  • Experience leading a small development team or serving as a technical lead.
  • Proficiency with Omniverse extensions, connector development, and Node/REST APIs.
  • Understanding of real‑time rendering, RTX graphics, materials, lighting, and 3D asset workflows.
  • Familiarity with Linux, Kubernetes, and Cloud‑based compute environments (AWS, Azure).

Preferred

  • Experience with Cesium, or Revit/Blender/3ds Max integration pipelines.
  • Knowledge of AI/ML integration, LLMs, or automation for scene generation.
  • Familiarity with collaborative multi‑user environments and streaming (Omniverse Cloud or similar).
  • Experience with Omniverse Replicator or synthetic data generation.
  • Previous work in digital twin, simulation, or engineering visualization contexts.
  • Prior consulting or project‑based delivery experience.
