Responsibilities

  • Conduct landlord outreach and education to develop a network of landlords available to rent to participants.
  • Support Case Coordinators with ongoing housing search services and services related to securing and maintaining housing.
  • Identify and secure available permanent housing opportunities for participants as needed.
  • Be responsive to landlord questions and needs; update the assigned Case Coordinator on issues that may impact housing.
  • Assist Case Coordinator with providing follow-up services to landlords including on-site visits, monthly phone contacts, and recording up-to-date participant and landlord information.
  • Liaise between landlord and tenant; maintain positive communications with cooperative agencies, property managers, landlords, housing resources, and involved family members and participants.
  • Coordinate with local housing authorities/landlord engagement committees to provide landlord incentives and maintain an inventory of all landlords and housing placements.
  • Develop and maintain all records and reports required by the funding agency and the Program for tracking and progress purposes.
  • Organize, plan, and lead networking events, program activities, and groups; complete logs, reports, and participant evaluations as required.
  • Prepare, submit, and deliver rental-related Temporary Financial Assistance (TFA) checks; provide direct service as needed.
  • Perform all duties as assigned and transport clients to appointments or activities as needed, ensuring safety and timeliness.

Requirements

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Preferred: Bachelor's degree in communication, marketing, business or related field and/or real estate certification/license and/or two years of relevant experience in housing placement, real estate, sales, or property management.
  • Experience: 18 years of age or older; strong interpersonal skills; computer literacy; ability to maintain organized records; successful completion of pre-employment drug screen and background check.
  • Skills: Ability to follow instructions; multitask, work under pressure, and manage time; maintain professional boundaries as custodian of confidential information.
  • Certification: Certification in an approved First Aid and CPR class, or ability to complete within 45 days of hire.
  • Travel: Ability to travel for meetings and trainings; travel within the counties served at least 75% of the time; occasional travel outside the county/state quarterly for meetings/trainings.
  • License: California insured, registered vehicle in safe working condition; proof of current driver's license.
  • Compliance: Physical evaluations may be required, including TB test and/or lift/transfers as needed.
