Overview

A material handler performs various manual distribution functions. A material handler is responsible for storing, moving and handling hazardous or non-hazardous materials.

Responsibilities

• Identify, transport, pack, remove and dispose of materials.
• Follow safety procedures and regulations, including wearing protective gear and disposing of materials as regulated by law.
• Physically move materials and use heavy equipment to move materials.

Qualifications

Working as a material handler does not require formal education, but does not entail extensive on-the-job training.

Compensation

Salary: $17.64-$22.62 per hour.
