Main Duties & Responsibilities SUMMARY Key reporting includes: This role is required to be on-site 5 days at the El Cajon, CA location.
The Assistant Controller is responsible for assisting with both the day-to-daymanagement of the Accountingand IT functions of the site and being an integral member of thesite leadership team. The role involves supporting the day-to-dayoperations of the company through solid value-added analysis and efficienttactical execution of required tasks.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Managethe financial statement close process to timely and accurate completionwhile ensuring conformity with company accounting policies, procedures,and control requirements.
Managethe reporting requirements on key KPI to both division and Corporate on atimely and accurate basis.Supports Corporate Taxteam on annual tax requirements.
Prepare,execute, and report the financial plans (e.g., Budgets, Forecasts, CashFlow) for the business.
Workingwith site leadership to provide support through business analysis,strategic oversight, identification of areas for improvement andmanagement of key projects, including product margin and customer marginanalysis.
Workwith Site Leadership to provide support through business analysisincluding product margin and customer margin analysis.
Analyze,review and Report metrics to determine the operational effectiveness ofour manufacturing operations, business processes andprofitability.
Direct labor efficiency and utilization – understand trends and profit impacts, work with operations to drive improvements.
Purchase price savings – understand market dynamics, work with supply chain to help drive sound purchasing decisions.
Support Make vs. Buy analysis.
Estimated cost builds for sales quotations – provide financial support to sales team to quote profitable projects accurately and quickly for the business.
Workwith operations to support capital planning and capital expense requests -analysis of needs, timing of spending and post-implementation reviews ofthe projects.
Identifyand lead process improvement projects to automate and streamline currentaccounting and reporting procedures.
Drivefurther ERP utilization and optimization to streamline key businessprocesses.Recommend and implement necessary changes.
Developand mentor finance staff.Build bench strength to supportorganizational succession planning.Effective organizationplanning and talent management/development.
Must have solid financial statement and cost accountingbackground and be extremely comfortable working with ERP systems to improveoverall operating efficiency.
Qualifications Required Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business from an accredited school 6+ years of experience in cost accounting in a manufacturing environment CPAand/or MBA, a plus Compensation In compliance with all states and cities requiring transparency of pay, the expected pay range for this position is $130,000 - $155,000. Compensation can vary depending on several factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, experience, competencies, and geographic location. Some roles may qualify for extra incentives like equity, commissions, or other variable performance-related bonuses.
