We're seeking an Electrical Assistant Project Manager in San Diego to support project delivery and bridge the gap between field operations and senior project management.

• Deliver commercial electrical service and special projects on time and within budget across Southern California
• Drive operational efficiency by coordinating field teams, submittal processes, and daily project requirements
• Build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure seamless execution
• Support long-term project success through detailed documentation, cost tracking, and proactive problem-solving
• Contribute to business growth by maintaining high standards of quality and safety on every assignment
Responsibilities
• Coordinate electrical installations for service projects and special assignments up to 480 volt systems
• Assist project managers with scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation for multiple concurrent projects
• Review electrical drawings, specifications, and submittals for accuracy and code compliance
• Track project costs, material orders, and labor hours using Procore and Sage systems
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, quality, and safety compliance (1-2 days per week travel required)
• Prepare daily reports, RFIs, and change order documentation for senior management review
• Coordinate with field teams, superintendents, and trade partners on project logistics
• Support estimating efforts by gathering field data and material pricing for future bids
• Maintain OSHA compliance and promote a culture of safety across all jobsites
• Participate in client meetings and project closeout procedures
Requirements
Must-Haves
• 2-4 years of electrical project experience in commercial construction or service environments
• Strong understanding of electrical systems up to 480 volt including lighting, power distribution, and controls
• Demonstrated ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications
• Stable work history with proven commitment to previous employers
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for jobsite visits
• Strong organizational and communication skills
Nice-to-Haves
• Experience with Procore project management software
• Familiarity with Sage accounting systems
• Background working for electrical service contractors or similar companies
• OSHA 30 certification
• Associate or bachelor's degree in construction management, electrical technology, or related field
• Experience supporting projects at military installations or government facilities
Compensation & Logistics
Competitive salary depending on experience ($75,000-$125,000); benefits include health insurance, dental and vision coverage, 401(k) with company match, PTO, paid holidays, vehicle allowance, and professional development opportunities. Position based in San Marcos office with some Anaheim-area project support.
