Job Duties and Responsibilities: Generalist HR Support

Act as the primary point of contact to Tribal Government leaders and Team Members, providing timely and accurate guidance.

Support onboarding, training, and certification tracking for new hires and current Team Members.

Assist with employee relations matters, investigations, and performance management in collaboration with Human Resource leadership.

Partner with Payroll to ensure accuracy of pay progression, overtime, and specialty pay programs.

Support compensation processes by gathering and analyzing internal and external pay data, assisting with compensation proposals and presentations, and helping implement pay adjustments and incentive programs.

Maintain electronic files for Team Member documents.

Maintain compliance with Sycuan policies, federal/state laws, and confidentiality standards.

Provide support for Human Resources projects and initiatives, as needed.

Recruiting & Talent Acquisition

Collaborate with Fire, Police, Medical, and Tribal Government departments to identify staffing needs and workforce planning.

Assist in developing recruiting strategies for public safety roles, including outreach to academies, licensing boards, and professional associations.

Partner with Talent Acquisition to manage recruitment activities including job postings, resume screening, interviews, reference checks, and offer letters.

Build and maintain talent pipelines through outreach, career fairs, and partnerships with training programs and job boards.

Monitor recruitment metrics and adjust strategies to ensure effective hiring timelines and candidate quality.

Job Specifications: Education and Experience: Essential:

3+ years of Human Resources experience.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and HR experience.

Desirable:

3+ years of Human Resources experience in a city, county, or public sector organization; experience with public safety or government departments.

PHR/SPHR (HRCI) or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification.

Human Resources experience in a Tribal setting.

Skills and Knowledge: Essential:

Knowledge of HR principles including recruitment, employee relations, benefits, and compliance.

Knowledge of full-cycle recruiting.

Understanding of employee relations and conflict resolution.

Proficiency in HRIS systems and ATS platforms.

Ability to communicate and collaborate with leadership and staff.

Ability to manage confidential information.

Verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.

Knowledge of local, state and federal employment laws and procedures.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Desirable:

Ceridian Dayforce Knowledge

Familiarity with sovereign nation governance and Tribal employment law.

Familiarity with step-pay systems and progression models for government or first responder positions.
