Senior Accounting Manager
Our client, a high-growth asset management firm, is seeking a Senior Accounting Manager to join their expanding finance team.
Location
San Francisco, CA. The position is hybrid, with in-office work expected 2 days per week (Monday and Tuesday), with potential to increase to 3–4 days/week.
Job Description
This is a high-impact role with direct exposure to leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate, timely fund and management company reporting.
Responsibilities
- Lead and review quarterly/annual financial statements, audits, tax returns, and regulatory filings
- Design and implement policies and procedures to enhance finance operations
- Serve as primary liaison with fund administrators, auditors, and tax teams
- Review accounting journals, ledgers, and transactions for funds and management company
- Process and review fund investment and expense transactions
- Monitor banking activity and manage wires, capital calls/distributions, and credit line requests
- Maintain organized accounting documentation and internal controls
- Manage investor communications and reporting portal
- Collaborate with investment and compliance teams on ad-hoc projects
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting
- Mentor and develop finance staff
Requirements
- 7+ years of venture capital or asset management accounting experience
- Strong understanding of core accounting principles
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
