The Associate Director of Content & Social Media is responsible for driving the YMCA of Greater San Francisco's digital storytelling and social media presence. Reporting to the Sr. Executive Director of Marketing & Engagement, this role ensures that content across our web and social channels reflects who we are: welcoming, inclusive, and always evolving.
As both a creative thinker and a hands‑on contributor as an individual contributor (IC), this role manages content strategies and social media campaigns that engage audiences, strengthen our brand, and advance organizational goals. The role also ensures digital content is accessible, inclusive, and aligned with our brand voice. Working closely with the Growth Marketing Manager, Digital Marketing Coordinator (Web & Email), and internal teams, this role elevates our digital presence through compelling storytelling, consistent standards, and data‑informed decision making.
This is a hybrid role located in San Francisco, CA with a requirement of four (4) days onsite.
This position requires regular in‑office work (4 days/week) and the ability to work at a computer for extended periods. May occasionally require lifting materials up to 25 lbs for events or campaign support. Some evening or weekend work may be required to support special events or critical deadlines.
Must successfully complete a background screening, including criminal and employment verification. Some positions may also require a credit check.

The Associate Director of Content & Social Media position offers compensation of $75,000-$107,000 annual. This rate is based on salary benchmarking for similar roles and is aligned with grant fund approvals and requirements for the position.
