IT Specialist-Lab Management

Our medical device client is seeking a hands‑on IT Lab Specialist who thrives in technical environments and enjoys solving complex challenges. In this role, you'll manage lab operations, set up hardware/software systems, and work closely with IT and engineering teams to keep everything running seamlessly.

Rate: $45 - $50 / hr (W-2)

Responsibilities:

• Be the go‑to person for lab maintenance and support.
• Configure Mac and PC systems with standardized images and security patches.
• Work with IT to ensure seamless network connectivity.
• Assemble racks, servers, and update hardware for validation.
• Build and manage virtual machines to scale test infrastructure.
• Procure and track test equipment and inventory.
• Install automation tools for monitoring and data collection.
• Document lab layout, processes, and device information for easy access.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols.

Desired Skills:

• Lab Management experience.
• Scripting skills (Python or Shell).
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting abilities.

Nice‑to‑Have Skills:

• QA automation experience.
• Development background.
• Leadership and process standardization.

Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
• 3–5 years in lab management or IT infrastructure support.
• Familiarity with virtualization and automation tools.
• Certifications like CompTIA A+, Network+, Python, or VMware are a plus.
