We're on the lookout for a Workers' Compensation Lost Time Adjuster to join our growing team! As a Lost Time Adjuster, you will manage a caseload of workers' compensation indemnity cases from inception to resolution while maintaining communication with clients, producers and employers via telephone and written correspondence. You will also manage a diary system to ensure timely benefit administration and superior claims management.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct and direct investigation to determine AOE/COE, including 24-hour 3-point contact to EE, ER & MD
- Establish initial reserves in a timely manner and maintain accurate reserves based on probable outcome on all claims
- Authorize appropriate medical care, issue timely indemnity benefits and manage all legal aspects of all claims
- Provide quality customer service to clients, producers, employers and injured workers
- Determine settlement value and resolution while moving all cases towards appropriate closure
- Other duties as assigned
Skills, knowledge & expertise
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- California Workers' Compensation experience is required
- WCCA or WCCP designation preferred
- Self-Insured License preferred
- Multiple years' experience handling Workers' Compensation claims, including indemnity and legal claims
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent communication skills both written and oral with a strong focus towards exceptional customer service

- Self-starter who can work under minimum direction to meet or exceed goals and objectives
- Excellent organizational, problem solving and decision-making skills required
