At Ranch 45 the Steward plays a crucial role in maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment. Responsible for the efficient cleaning and organization of dishes, utensils, and kitchen areas, the Dishwasher ensures compliance with safety standards and contributes to the overall cleanliness and functionality of the restaurant.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Sorts and rinses dirty dishes, glass, tableware, and cooking utensils, placing them in racks for dishwashing.
  • Stacks clean dishes, transports them to the cook's line, and stores them appropriately, with a commitment to rewashing if necessary.
  • Changes dishwater regularly, ensuring optimal functioning of the dish machine.
  • Hand washes pots, pans, and trays as needed.
  • Manages waste disposal, including compost, recycling, and garbage, and breaks down cardboard boxes for proper disposal.
  • Assists in receiving daily deliveries, handling items such as dry goods, meat, produce, equipment, and supplies.
  • Cleans and disposes of grease waste from the grease trap following restaurant schedules and policies.
  • Receives and organizes linen deliveries in restaurant storage areas.
  • Maintains cleanliness and supplies at handwashing sinks.
  • Follows a schedule for carpet removal and sweeping or vacuuming.
  • Sets up and breaks down the dishwashing area efficiently.
  • Fills and empties soak tubs with cleaning/sanitizing solutions.
  • Sweeps and mops floors to ensure a tidy workspace.
  • Assembles and disassembles the dish machine as required.
  • Cleans the exterior of the restaurant and building common areas, removing trash.
  • Performs general restaurant and restroom cleaning tasks as directed.
  • Wipes up spills promptly to keep kitchen floors dry and clean.
  • Notifies the Manager of any dish machine issues or deviations from safety standards.
  • Adheres to hygiene practices, ensuring hands are washed before handling clean dishes.

  • Maintains a clean, sanitary, and safe work environment, organizing all dish stations and areas consistently.
  • Conducts personal inspections and follows preventive maintenance procedures to keep equipment in excellent working condition.
  • Responsible for exhibiting professional behavior with both internal/external business associates that reflects positively on the company and is consistent with the company's policies and practices.
  • Performing other duties as assigned

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Food Sanitation Certification

• Must be able to read labels on chemicals

• Strong problem solving and communication skills

• Exceptional time management skills

• Willingness to comply with all food safety procedures
