This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job.
The Screen Out Element for this position is the ability to perform common tasks including:
1) Applying knowledge of all types of metals, metal alloys, and composite materials used in aircraft structures;
2) Performing machining processes/operations to include planning, laying out and setting-up of work;
3) Using various types of conventional and computer numerical control machine tools to perform machining operations; and
4) Interpreting blueprints, sketches, drawings, directives, technical specifications and trade mathematics.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Duties
Help
- You will set up and perform machining operations on conventional and NC Machine Tools.
- You will manufacture, repair, and rebuild parts and items of equipment from raw stock of different metals and metal alloys.
- You will utilize precision measuring instruments to maintain dimensions and tolerances, fits and finishes in processing work.
- You will set up CNC machines using proper tooling components, optical tool setter, gage blocks, micrometers, etc.
- You will maintain accuracy in accordance with requirements of blueprints, drawings and sketches, work documents, aircraft technical documents, manuals, bulletins, and directives.

- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to lift and carry loads of up to 40 pounds.
