Senior Project Engineer

Senior Project Engineer Job Type: Full Time Location: San Diego, CA Key Skills & Requirements Proven ability to maintain client relationships and generate new business Active involvement in professional and community organizations Independent decision-making and strong communication skills Minimum 5 years of experience managing technical teams Strong leadership, team collaboration, and client service mindset Managerial Experience Should Include: Oversight of construction bid documents and contracts Managing construction support and field coordination Project schedule and budget management Writing contracts, fee proposals, and scopes of work Interfacing with both private and public agency clients Technical Expertise Includes: Conceptual and preliminary engineering design Preparation and processing of regulatory and public improvement plans Constructability reviews and construction support services Strong knowledge of jurisdictional codes and procedures, especially within California and San Diego AutoCAD/Civil 3D proficiency required Additional Skills: Strong understanding of engineering principles and design techniques Familiarity with business and management best practices Strategic planning, leadership, and team coordination Effective negotiation and time management skills Ability to mentor junior engineers and designers High level of written and verbal communication competence CAD proficiency for creating exhibits, studies, and final plans Requirements Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE) CA Professional Civil Engineer license 15+ years of relevant experience or 18+ years of equivalent industry experience Strong preference for local San Diego County and California experience Benefits What's Offered: Competitive compensation with annual bonus potential Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision 401(k) plan, profit sharing, life and disability insurance Paid personal leave Alternative work schedule Team-building activities, events, and holiday celebrations
