Job Description
Apply for this position as a Lead Histotech with a top facility in San Diego, California!
Position Overview: As a Histologist, Lead, you'll be responsible for processing and preparing patient tissue specimens for microscopic examination. Key duties include cutting, mounting, staining, and ensuring compliance with regulations. This role also involves interfacing with various departments, performing sample capture for molecular submission, and training staff.
Schedule: Tuesday-Saturday, 12:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Essential Duties:
- Prepare high-quality microscopic slides, including embedding, microtomy, and mounting.
- Accession specimens and perform data entry.
- Conduct routine and non-routine slide preparation for pathologist evaluation.
- Serve as a departmental Subject Matter Expert (SME) and train new and existing employees.
- Bachelor's or Associate's degree with HT (ASCP) or HTL (ASCP) certification.
- 6+ years of clinical lab experience, preferably in molecular diagnostics.
- Proficiency in cutting and mounting tissue sections, including needle biopsies.
- Familiarity with histology equipment and continuing education requirements.
