Job Classification: Part-time, at-will, hourly non-exempt

Salary range: $20 per hour; commensurate with experience

Children's Choice is a well-established Preschool with locations throughout San Diego County. We are looking for drivers to safely transport school age children between our Center and multiple Elementary schools.

The ideal candidate is responsible, follows all traffic laws, and is able to stay calm and drive safely under stressful conditions. The driver is comfortable interacting with small children and has a calm, patient, and positive attitude.

Responsibilities:

• Transports students to and from school in a safe manner.
• Appropriately operates the vehicles and equipment.
• Obeys all traffic laws and transportation practices as outlined in the Driver Handbook, Company Policy, and local ordinances.
• Observes all mandatory safety regulations and keeps all emergency exits clear of obstructions.
• Effectively handles the vehicle and students in adverse weather conditions.
• Relates well to students and staff.
• Inspects the vehicle before and after each route or activity trip.
• Maintains vehicle in clean condition and informs the Director of any routine maintenance or repairs required.
• Adheres to district health and safety policies.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Valid Driver's License and clean driving record.
• 3 years prior driving experience
• Must be able to work as part of a team and get along with various personalities.

• Pass DSS Background check.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

• Drivers work without direct supervision and are solely responsible for the safety of their passengers and vehicle.
• Drivers will be subject to high-stress situations.
• Spend most of their workday driving, therefore prolonged sitting is required.
• Must be comfortable driving in all types of weather conditions.
