Utility Worker

Transdev in Chula Vista, CA is hiring a Utility Worker/Service Employee. The Utility Worker/Service Employee is required to perform basic vehicle servicing duties. We are looking for customer service-oriented professionals who are dedicated to safety.

Transdev is proud to offer:

  • Utility Worker/Service Employee represented by Teamsters Local 683:
    • Position subject to collective bargaining agreement
    • $21.51 per hour starting pay with progression based on CBA negotiation over a 3 year period

Benefits include:

  • Vacation: up to 35 days per year- based on years of service and hours worked
  • Paid sick leave: 40 hours per year; medical, dental & vision after 90 calendar days of employment for full-time employees, life insurance, 401k retirement benefits, and company holidays

Key responsibilities:

  • Maintain the cleanliness of fleet vehicles - interior and exterior
  • Driving, maneuvering, and parking vehicles
  • Fueling buses, replenishing fluids, and logging and recording all fluids
  • Downloading drive cameras & probes fare boxes
  • Perform light maintenance to shop areas, fueling stations, and related facilities
  • Report maintenance issues to supervisor
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license for a minimum of 3 years
  • Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.

Physical demands:

  • Less than 10% of work is accomplished in doors and in air conditioned or well-ventilated facilities.
  • Greater than 90% of work is accomplished in an open garage facility.
  • Performs physical activities that require considerable use of the arms, repetitive hand wrist motion, and legs and moving the whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.
  • May be asked to lift and carry up to 60 pounds.
  • May be exposed to cleaning chemicals, you have access to safety protective gear.
