We are a growth-stage SUD treatment program, partnered with a long-standing nonprofit in the Bay Area, expanding services for youth and adult populations.

The Role

The AOD Counselor facilitates group-based SUD services for youth (in person) and supports adult programming (telehealth), while contributing to a collaborative, multidisciplinary care environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate evidence-based group sessions for youth and adult populations
  • Provide relapse prevention education and recovery coaching
  • Complete documentation in compliance with DHCS Title 9 and Medi-Cal requirements
  • Support intake, orientation, and ongoing client engagement
  • Collaborate with clinical and medical teams to support integrated care
  • Deliver trauma-informed, culturally responsive services
  • Contribute ideas and improvements as the program evolves

Required Qualifications

  • Must be registered with a DHCS-approved certifying body (CCAPP, CADTP, or CAADE) prior to hire
  • Ability to obtain full AOD certification within 12 months (certified counselors strongly preferred)
  • Experience facilitating SUD groups for youth or adults preferred
  • Strong communication, documentation, and teamwork skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment
