Responsibilities
Kforce financial services client in San Diego is seeking a Dispute Resolution Specialist. This position is onsite Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm. As a key member of our dispute resolution department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring efficient and accurate resolution of financial disputes.Responsibilities:
- Handle daily claim intake, accurately managing various general ledger postings, conducting thorough research, processing reversals, supporting chargebacks, providing member support, and assisting with phone inquiries
- Conduct in-depth research and analysis using all available resources, accurately interpreting provided information
- Fraud/Dispute claims intake review, processing and reversals
- Review additional information letters and move claim forward to chargeback if applicable
- Monitor and maintain awareness of the latest fraud and scam trends and provide members with education on prevention strategies
- Collaborate and support management in internal and external education and communication efforts related to card fraud
- Review, manage, and escalate documentation related to merchant second presentments and chargeback cases, ensuring timely and accurate case closures and report submissions
- Collaborate with internal technical support and vendors to resolve complex member or system issues
- Work collaboratively with team members, contributing to continuous improvement and knowledge sharing
- Assist with internal and external audit responses
- Maintain a sufficient understanding of NCUA, Regulation-E, Regulation-Z, and Mastercard Dispute Resolution Guidelines, while ensuring appropriate follow-up and correspondence with members is executed
Skills - High School diploma/GED is required; Associate's degree is preferred
- At least 6 months to 1 year of experience with credit union or bank processing, or equivalent work experience is preferred
- Knowledge of Regulation E timeframes and guidelines
- Sufficient knowledge in either Debit and Credit Card Operations, or Mastercard chargebacks preferred
- Proven ability to adapt to changing volumes and re-prioritization of tasks while maintaining excellent organization and customer service skills
- Requires an empathetic demeanor and can-do attitude to achieve the highest level of service and member experience
- Ability to multi-task, work under time constraints to meet work deadlines, and remain calm in stressful situations
- Ability to move between multiple systems quickly and efficiently, as well as the ability to learn new applications quickly
- Previous experience with Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Word and Outlook)
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
