Mechanical Soldering Assembler - $25.96/hr - $27.26/hr

Job Description

As a Cable Assembler, you will build various cables used in aircraft and ground control stations. You will determine and follow methods and sequences of operations in performingtasks such as wiring, component installation, hand soldering, and cable harnessing. Additionally, you will interpret assembly drawings and written work instructions, crimp terminals onto wires using manual and automated tools, label assemblies per specifications, and perform soldering tasks like tinning wire and splicing connections.

1st is 5AM-2:30pm M-TH and 2nd shift is 3pm-12:30am M-TH (9/80 schedule).

Responsibilities

  • Perform assembly tasks including wiring, component installation, hand soldering, and cable harnessing.

  • Follow and comprehend assembly drawings or written work instructions.

  • Crimp terminals/contacts onto wires using manual and automated tooling.

  • Label assemblies according to drawing specifications.

  • Solder and tin wires, splices, and connections.

  • Use basic hand tools, wire strippers, hand crimpers, scissors, soldering iron, and heat gun.

  • Monitor and verify quality in accordance with control procedures.

  • Observe all laws, regulations, and obligations.

  • Work safely in accordance with established procedures.

Essential Skills

  • 3 years of experience in manufacturing and production.

  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, work instructions, and wire lists.

  • Skill in using manual and automated tooling for crimping.

  • Familiarity with basic hand tools like cutters, wire strippers, hand crimpers, scissors, soldering iron, and heat gun.

  • Good visual perception and ability to distinguish colors.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Certification in IPC/WHMA-A620 is a plus.

  • Understanding of 5S and Lean Principles is a plus.

  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.

  • Customer-focused with a good understanding of general job aspects.

  • Knowledge of computer operations and applications.

  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team and work extended hours when required.

Work Environment

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.96 - $27.26/hr.
