POSITION: Food Service Worker START DATE: ASAP END DATE/CONTRACT LENGTH: 13 Weeks LOCATION: MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR LA JOLLA SHIFT: 5x8H Days, Variable days off, weekends required. (12:30 pm - 9:00 pm) **This is an AFSCME represented position with a minimum candidate pay rate of $28.55/hr** COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS: Candidate will be expected to complete typical compliance for health care systems upon hire (including providing vaccine records, fit test, updated physical, background check, drug screen, etc.) in order to meet UC San Diego Health HR and Joint Commission standards. JOB DESCRIPTION: Semi-skilled individual who works under close supervision. Areas of work responsibility include any of the following: food preparation, dishroom, storeroom, dining room bussing, equipment, delivery of food, customer service and operation of food carts. Responsible for providing food services in a courteous manner with co-workers, patients, staff, and guests. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: - FOOD PREPARATION AND QUALITY CONTROL - Food prep experience in a fast paced environment. Skill in organizing work and materials for maximum productivity. - SANITATION AND SAFETY - Ability to understand basic sanitation requirements related to personal hygiene and food handling. - COMMUNICATION AND CUSTOMER SERVICE - Skill to interact and communicate positively with other staff, and customers. - Experience in a restaurant, catering or retail operation in a front of house or back of the house environment.
