Summer Camp and support youth across San Diego County.

This is an opportunity to be part of meaningful work focused on environmental education, leadership, arts, and social-emotional learning.

Summer Camp Locations & Dates

Escondido (6-week program)

June 24 – July 31

9:00 AM – 3:00 PM (staff approx. 8:30–3:30)

San Diego (School-Based Program)

July 6 – July 17

9:00 AM – 12:00 PM & 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM

Escondido (Additional Program – Pending)

July 20 – August 7

9:30 AM – 2:30 PM

Training (Required)

Dates: June 15th to June 18th – trainings will take place in-person at Escondido.

Additional virtual onboarding may be scheduled.

Training includes:

  • Youth mentorship and relationship-building

  • Social-emotional learning (SEL) and trauma-informed practices

  • Program structure, safety, and behavior support

  • Activity facilitation (arts, outdoor learning, and group engagement)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Program Implementation
    Assist with implementing a high-quality and structured summer program, including but not limited to the preparation of classroom materials and daily activities, leading program activities/projects, and daily cleaning and tidying of the used spaces. Must be able to communicate in a timely manner about program-related inquiries to supervisors.

  • Supervision of Participants:

    Establishing a fun, safe, and positive environment conducive to youth development and restorative practices. Must be able to look after the students during outdoor play and activities to ensure they are safe, including safely transferring campers to and from locations during activities and field trips.

  • Customer Service:

    Establish a welcoming environment where all participants feel respected and safe. Provide responsive and helpful assistance to

    families while effectively communicating with other team members.

  • Mentorship:

    Ensuring the students within the program feel heard and safe, which can include being there to emotionally support students, problem-solving when challenges may arise for them during the program, and encouraging the students to try new experiences.

Who We're Looking For
  • Must have experience working with children; child development experience is a plus.

  • Must be able to help carry out classroom activities such as classroom presentations, arts and crafts projects, and guided outdoor activities.

  • Team players who are flexible and dependable.

  • Passion for community, creativity, and mentorship.

  • Ability to attend the staff training week and assigned work schedule.

  • Must undergo a background check.

Important Notes
  • We have several confirmed positions and may open additional roles once funding is finalized in May.

  • Staff may be placed at different locations based on availability and program needs.

  • Some limited paid prep hours may be available prior to program start, depending on program needs.

  • Opportunities for extended summer work may be available.
