Job Title: Legal Assistant - Business Litigation

Location: San Diego, CA

Salary Pay Range and Other Compensation: $87,000 to $100,000 depending on experience

Employment Type: Full-Time | Direct Hire

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Schedule: Hybrid

About the Role:

This role supports a litigation team handling complex corporate and commercial matters in state and federal courts. The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to deadlines, and the ability to manage high-volume work while supporting multiple attorneys in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Draft and format pleadings, discovery requests and responses, motions, subpoenas, and correspondence
  • Handle e-filing in state and federal courts without the use of full-service providers
  • Maintain attorney calendars and track litigation deadlines
  • Communicate with clients, courts, and opposing counsel
  • Support attorneys with varying work styles and case management needs
  • Assist with preparation for mediations, arbitrations, and trials
  • Manage case files and ensure accurate documentation and organization
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of seven years of experience in civil litigation support
  • Experience supporting attorneys in business or commercial litigation
  • Bankruptcy litigation experience preferred
  • Proficiency with court filing systems and litigation procedures
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive approach
