Company Description

A startup that manufactures and sells medical devices focused primarily on the physical therapy industry, with one product that tests force and range of motion. We are looking to expand and grow! The company has roughly 30 employees around the world, with around 10 at headquarters here in San Diego. The office is in the UTC area, where this role would be based (in-person position).

Role Description

The Operations Coordinator role is a critical on-site position that would focus on logistics, customer support, order fulfillment, process improvement, SOP development, sales generation, relationship management, and operational efficiency. This person would wear "many different hats" and be able to flex into multiple different roles. It can be either full-time or part-time, or a mixture of both - flexibility would be helpful here. Compensation is around $25 an hour, with a bit more for highly skilled and experienced candidates, and a bit less for more junior candidates.

Primary responsibilities would be:

  • "Living and breathing" our logistics processes - understanding all costs, tariffs, shipping durations, and finding the optimal solutions and resources to ship our units efficiently and cost effectively
  • Managing all customer support inquiries - handling tickets and requests that come in via HubSpot and ensuring we are automating, streamlining, and optimizing the way we respond to customers
  • Improving operational processes across cross-functional teams - sales, marketing, manufacturing, customer support, product development, compliance, etc. for enhanced team-wide efficiency
  • Ability to generate sales and manage external relationships to increase revenue potential and find alternative customers or industries to cater to (thinking "outside the box")
  • Willingness to "get your hands dirty" and fulfill orders as needed - unpacking and repacking boxes, shipping units out, inventory management, moving things around the office to stay organized

Qualifications

  • Prior operations, logistics, customer support experience is a major plus
  • Need to be able to commute into the office in the UTC area (fully in-person role)
  • Self-motivated and hungry to add value to a startup that is looking to grow
  • Data analytical skills would be helpful to manage responsibilities
  • Willingness to learn with adaptability and flexibility to handle many different types of tasks
  • Positive attitude, punctual, consistent, "hustle and grind", willing to go above and beyond
  • Needs to be detail-oriented while delivering an exceptional customer experience
  • A Bachelors Degree would be required, ideally business management or operations related
  • Prior experience in startups and fast-paced work environments is also a plus
  • Proficiency in multiple software tools and systems would be helpful as well
