We're looking for a Director of Engineering to own the engineering vision, strategy, and execution for Scribd's growth organization. You will build modern growth and MarTech systems for a global audience of +200M monthly visitors and +2M paying subscribers across multiple brands.
You'll lead an organization of approximately 25 engineers across three teams, directly managing a growth platform team while providing strategic and organizational leadership across the full group. You will operate at two altitudes simultaneously: hands‑on with your platform team while setting direction, raising the bar, and removing obstacles across the broader org.
This is a high‑ownership leadership role for a Director who is both people‑first and visionary: someone who is passionate about growth engineering and maximizing the potential of an already high‑performing team.
This role requires deep technical expertise in designing and shipping growth systems. You'll partner closely with leaders in Product, Performance Marketing, Partnerships, Data Platform, and Analytics to build reliable foundations, and to translate growth strategy into high‑leverage technical capabilities.
We are entering the next phase of growth engineering at Scribd, systematically investing in a holistic platform and practices that drive sustained business impact at scale: from paid, partnerships, plans & pricing, to onboarding and retention.
If you're looking for a role where you can define the architecture (not just manage the backlog), ship systems that directly move conversion and revenue, build a team and culture, and do it all alongside sharp, collaborative people who care – we'd love to talk!
