Epsilon Systems Solutions is seeking a full-time Shipboard Electrician II in San Diego, CA.
Summary:
This position is located in San Diego, CA, and provides day-to-day support onboard U.S. Navy surface ships at 32nd Street Naval Station and surrounding areas. The Shipboard Electrician II will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining shipboard electrical systems, reading and interpreting schematics, and supporting installation and testing efforts to ensure systems are fully operational and compliant with Navy standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Conducting ship check(s) to verify Automated Work Request (AWR) requirements.
Assessing and repairing shipboard auxiliary and/or galley and laundry equipment.
May work as a general mechanic at times as well.
Training Ship's Force on how to accomplish AWR repairs.
Researching US Navy and COTS Technical manuals and / or drawings to identify repair parts.
Contacting vendors as required for parts support / technical information (as required).
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum 12 years of experience with either shipboard marine electrical or skilled trades experience with related maintenance and repair experience
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, diagrams, or other mechanical technical data pertaining to the construction and operation of naval equipment.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DBIDs credential and base access
Preferred Skill Sets:
Ability to diagnose, repair, install, and test electrical circuits, equipment, and appliances
Experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical controls, industrial motor control centers, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs)
Familiarity with shipboard, food service, and laundry equipment Working knowledge of shipboard Work Authorization Forms (WAFs), Tag Outs, and eSOMs
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics for wiring installation and work from both standard and metric specifications
Pay Range:
The pay range for this role is $32.30 to $38.00 Per Hour. This is a reasonable estimate for this role. Individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
