Job DescriptionInventory Specialist in Kearny Mesa, CA.SummaryThe Inventory Specialist is responsible for efficiently and accurately filling customer orders, performing cycle counts, resolving inventory discrepancies, receiving, stocking, staging, and shipping material in a manner that meets company standards for safety, security, accuracy, and productivity. Responsible for all warehouse transactions, as well as the upkeep and maintenance of the branch or distribution center environment.ResponsibilitiesBehave consistently with the Company's Core Competencies, Policies, Procedures, guidelines, and focus on safety.Utilize both Radio Frequency (RF) hand-held devices and Warehouse Management System (WMS) dashboard screens to perform cycle counting, location maintenance, vendor returns, scrap, inventory processing, exception reports, and lost and found products.Research and reconcile any inventory discrepancies, receipt exceptions, shipping issues, customer returns, or damaged material.Complete all inventory control tasks accurately and in a timely manner per business requirements.Report any damage to electronic hardware, material handling equipment, and the Distribution Center immediately to a Supervisor.Monitor inventory levels to ensure a healthy inventory count.Receive material coming into the building by vendors, customers, or other warehouses.Verify the quantity and description of materials received by checking merchandise against the packing list.Process paperwork regarding shipments, including verifying that the merchandise to be shipped is correct, applying the correct postage tape and label, following customer shipping instructions, and insuring the shipment when necessary.Prepare orders from the distribution center and ensure that the correct number and type of product is being shipped.Communicate with vendor buyers about any issues, concerns, or needed corrections to item inventory or products.Load common carrier and company vehicles as needed.Assist with other branch/distribution center duties as needed.Perform other duties as assigned.What You'll Need1+ years of experience in inventory control or high-volume Warehouse or Distribution Center preferred.Certification to operate forklift, hand truck, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment preferred.High School or GED - Preferred.Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesCustomer oriented and motivated with excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.Ability to exhibit a positive, friendly, and helpful attitude with customers and to be sensitive to their needs.Excellent computer skills, demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office (Excel), automated order entry systems, and other internet-based tools.Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Physical DemandsSit: must be able to remain in a stationary position – occasionally – up to 20%.Walk: must be able to move about inside/outside office or work location – constantly – at least 51%.Use hands to finger, handle, or feel: operates a computer and other office machinery – constantly – at least 51%.Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl: must be able to crouch down to stock shelves, pick up boxes, or position oneself to maintain computers in the lab/under desks/in server closet – frequently – 21% to 50%.Climb or balance: must be able to ascend/descend on a ladder, forklift, pallet jack, or other warehouse equipment – occasionally – up to 20%.Talk, hear, taste, smell: must be able to use senses to effectively communicate with co‑workers and clients and detect hazardous conditions – constantly – at least 51%.Weight and Force DemandsUp to 10 pounds – constantly – at least 51%.Up to 25 pounds – constantly – at least 51%.Up to 50 pounds – frequently – 21% to 50%.Working EnvironmentExposed to unpleasant or disagreeable physical environment such as high noise level and/or exposure to heat and cold – constantly – at least 51%.Exposed to electrical hazards; risk of electrical shock – occasionally – up to 20%.Handles or works with potentially dangerous equipment – constantly – at least 51%.Travels to offsite locations – occasionally – up to 20%.Compensation (California)Pay ranges from $19.06 to $23.82 per hour, depending upon qualifications, experience, and other considerations permitted by law.BenefitsMedical, Dental, and Vision InsuranceLife InsuranceShort-Term and Long-Term Disability Insurance401K with Employer MatchPaid vacation and sick timePaid company holidays plus flexible personal days per yearTuition ReimbursementHealth & Wellness ProgramsFlexible Spending AccountsHSA AccountsCommuter Transit BenefitsAdditional Optional Insurance such as Pet Insurance, Legal Assistance, Critical Illness, Home and Auto Insurance to name a few.Employee Discount ProgramsProfessional Training & Development ProgramsCareer Advancement Opportunities – We like to promote from withinRexel USA (A VEVRAA Federal Contractor), and its affiliated companies, is an EEO/Disabled/Veterans employer.
