Parish Name: Mary, Star of the Sea Catholic ParishLocation: 7669 Girard Ave, La Jolla, CA 92037FLSA Status: Non-exemptSupervised By: PastorHours: Full-Time (40 hours/week)Salary: $25 - $30 per hour based on experiencePosition SummaryAs a facility specialist, your responsibilities include maintaining cleanliness and orderliness throughout the parish facilities. You'll perform routine cleaning tasks, such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and taking out trash, while also addressing repairs and maintenance needs. Duties also include assisting with setting up tables and chairs for special events, as well as assisting other maintenance staff. Adherence to safety protocols and efficient communication with other staff members are essential aspects of this role. Additionally, a facility specialist helps create a welcoming environment for employees, visitors, and guests.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesCoordinate with other maintenance workers in the repair and service of the building.Assisting in management in coordinating day-to-day work.Use power equipment and hand tools as necessary to accomplish assigned tasks.Assemble equipment, including desks, chairs, cabinets, etc.Conduct maintenance of equipment.Maintain repair and maintenance records.Remove, repair, and replace lights and ballasts as needed.Perform general carpentry work and minor electrical repairs as needed.Perform general plumbing maintenance.Assist in maintenance of outside grounds, including but not limited to sweeping, leaf blowing, trimming, etc.Assist in maintaining all parish and school facilities.Notify the appropriate personnel of structural items or contents that need maintenance or repairs by outside contractors.Handle and accept deliveries inside and outside the building as necessary.Open, set up, close, and clean for special events.Provide assistance to Diocesan and affiliated organizations using the facility.Assist in maintaining building security by checking for unlocked doors and unauthorized occupants.Maintain the key locker.Develop and maintain applicable documentation for day-to-day operations.Maintain an organized user manual library on all systems (i.e., mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and systems).Respond to inquiries and provide information within the scope of authority and knowledge.Provide input for monthly facility reports (tasking, maintenance, repairs, contracts).Perform duties as assigned.SupervisoryNoneRequirementsStrong working knowledge of repair methods, materials, tools, and general practices.Must be able to read, write, and understand English.Ability to perform outlined tasks with minimum supervision.Other Skills and AbilitiesPrevious related work experience preferred.Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to be mobile to, from, and within the facility, and to maneuver throughout the facility to clean and maintain the property.
